About Smitty's Suzuki Center

In 1965, the first motorcycle shop in the history of Upshur County opened at 104 Island Ave. in Buckhannon, Wv. It was in a 24x24 foot building with a 12x24 dirt floor repair room.

Ronald C. Smith and his wife Ginny with the help of his father Junior and mother Danube were the founders of the company. After 53 years the business continues to thrive and service the community.

The business was opened in 1963 as a pawn shop and sporting goods store. With the opening of the motorcycle shop, the pawn shop and sporting goods store was closed.

The motorcycle business has prospered ever since, due to the service provided and the patronage of the fine customers in central West Virginia. The Service Department is Five Star certified by Yamaha, and has won the Suzuki Super Service award in numerous years. The sales and longevity of the business are partially due to our service. You have to offer a service at a price that no one else can and that's what we are doing.

The business was the second franchised Suzuki dealer in West Virginia. It was at the same location until 2002 when it was moved into a new building and location on US Route 33 (Corridor "H") 9 miles east of exit 99 Interstate 79. The business presently handles Kawasaki, Suzuki, Yamaha, Ariens, Gravely and Yamaha Power. The business is presently under the ownership and management of Ronald J. Smith, a third generation owner.

THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT ALSO HAS A COMPLETE MACHINE SHOP.

Smitty's Suzuki Center is conveniently located near the areas of Tennerton, Atlas, Lorentz and Hodgesville.
